We're thankful to start 2024 with @drplaymore's celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King's life. The US Civil Rights Movement had global impact including in Brazil where samba reggae emerged fighting exclusion of Afro Brazilians in Carnaval celebrations & beyond. We're honored to share this music with our Durham community!

Community members are invited to join local plant-

Community members are invited to join local plant-based nutrition and cooking instructor Dilip Barman and drummers from Batalá Durham at 1 p.m. on Oct. 28 for a
FREE Let’s Beat Breast Cancer rally, sponsored by the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, that will share the message that eating a plant-based diet can be powerful preventive medicine for breast cancer. Free healthy vegan whole food, plant-
based samples and literature will also be available to attendees. Drums @ 1pm!
