Batalá Durham will be marching in the PRIDE: Durham, NC parade! Pride: Durham, NC will take place Saturday, September 28, 2019 on Duke University’s East Campus at 1304 Campus Drive. Parade start is 11:00 am. Festival is 12-4 pm. More information at https://www.pridedurhamnc.org/

Batalá Durham is thrilled to be back at La Fiesta del Pueblo for the third time, kicking off the festivities at 11:30 am with a parade down the streets of downtown Raleigh before a performance on the stage at approximately 12:00 pm! September is a very special month for Brazilian immigrants living in the United States. It is a time to sing, dance, meet friends, and celebrate life as an immigrant. Aligned with the festivities for the Brazilian independence, September is the month in which the cities with large Brazilian population commemorate the Brazilian Day.

On September 7th, 2019 Oxente Brazilian Arts presents the first annual Brazilian Day NC Festival in Durham Central Park. Batalá Durham will be performing, along with other musical groups, dance workshops and performances, capoeira workshops and roda, drinks and foods from local donors, games and prizes aligned with authentic and Brazilian live music. Batalá Durham will be performing at approximately 4:50 pm!

Batalá Durham is back again this year at Habitat for Humanity’s Bull Moon Ride & Run at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Help support Habitat for Humanity by joining the race (on foot or on bike) or come support the participants and stay for the show! Batalá Durham will perform before the event (around 7:00 pm) and then help drum the participants off the starting line at 7:30pm and 7:45pm. We’ll then welcome the finishers with an after-race performance around 8:30 pm. More details on the event on the Bull Moon website.

Batalá Durham and special guests from Batalá Philadelphia will be teaming up to bring the heat at the Durham Bulls’ Latino Heritage Weekend game on Saturday, July 27th! We’ll be performing outside the Durham Bulls Athletic Park prior to the 6:35 pm game, then performing on field in between innings during the game.
