In celebration of our 10th anniversary we’re hosting a Batalá Mundo event with drummers from around the world coming to play with us at the Iron Pour!!

As the host band, we’re providing a weekend of learning and social events for all the drummers coming in from out of town, all culminating in our epic Iron Pour performances!
Event Facts
We love playing this event because the whole thing is like one big fireworks display and you are in the middle of it! Every November since 2016, Liberty Arts has hosted a FREE public arts event in Durham Central Park. Thousands gather to watch teams of artists build furnaces that heat chunks of iron to unfathomable temperatures. All evening and into the night, thousands of pounds of molten iron will be poured into molds in an exciting fiery display, creating iron tiles designed by the public and sculptures made by NC artists. The event will also feature performances, local food trucks, craft beer, art vendors, and opportunities to learn from and engage with this spectacular art form.
